PERSONAL CARE PRODUCTS CRAFTED BY A CONSCIOUS CONSUMER LIKE YOU

Wellnesse was started by a mom who was struggling with her own health. After doing tons of research, she realized most of the products on store shelves were filled with toxic ingredients. As such, she went to work whipping up her own DIY recipes for the personal care products used by her and her family.

The End Result:

In each recipe, she carefully selected and sourced the best ingredients - always searching for healthy alternatives to toxins. The end result: clean personal care products that were more effective than their conventional counterparts. After sharing the recipe with her community, busy people started begging for her to create and sell the products herself.

And Thus, Wellnesse was born.

Trust Badge Definitions

16 years ago, our newborn son developed a severe rash. Doctors prescribed pharmaceuticals, but one phone call changed everything—a friend asked, "What laundry detergent are you using?"

People often ask me why we built TrulyFree.com.

#001b44

Years ago, when my infant son developed a severe rash, I did what every parent would do. I started asking questions. What was in the products we were using every day? What were we bringing into our home? Were there better options? That journey changed my life.It led me to start Truly Free Home because I wanted to create products my own family could feel good about using.

I met families all over the country who were asking the same questions I was.Families wanting healthier products they can trust...Entrepreneurs building businesses around transparency…Makers crafting better alternatives because they genuinely cared about the people using them. These weren't billion-dollar corporations.

They were real people solving real problems.

But Along the Way, I Discovered Something Much Bigger Than Laundry Detergent.

The more I met them, the more I realized something didn't seem right. Many of the brands doing incredible work were almost impossible to discover, while the companies with the biggest advertising budgets dominated our feeds, search results, and store shelves.

I kept thinking... There has to be a better way.

I like to think of it as the modern-day farmers market.
When you visit a local farmers market, you don't just buy a product...

You meet the person behind it. You hear their story. You learn why they created it. You build trust through connection.

That's the experience I wanted to bring to you and your families. A place where you can discover great brands, learn about the people behind them, and make informed decisions based on what matters most to you and your family.

You Decide What Matters to You

We're here to give you the information and transparency to make those decisions for yourself. That's why we created our badge system.Every family is different. Every shopper has different priorities.Maybe you're looking for products made in the USA.Maybe you want to support small businesses.Maybe sustainable packaging matters most to you.Maybe you're searching for women-owned businesses, regenerative farming, refillable products, or cleaner ingredients.Instead of telling you what to buy, we make it easy to shop by the badges that reflect what matters most to you.

We're not here to tell you what your values should be.

I believe every purchase is more than a transaction. It's a vote.A vote for the kind of businesses you want to see succeed.A vote for innovation over imitation.A vote for entrepreneurs who are working every day to build something better.

For too long, commerce has been controlled by a handful of giant companies.I believe the future belongs to people. To the founders brave enough to build something different. To the creators who share products they genuinely believe in.And to consumers like you, who choose to support businesses that reflect your own values.

At TrulyFree.com, you're not just buying products. You're discovering founders. Supporting small businesses. Building meaningful connections. And shopping in a way that feels right for you and your family. That's the future we're building together.Thank you for being part of it.Stephen Ezell Founder & CEO Truly Free

A closer look at how Truly Free Trust Badges are defined, verified, and designed to help you shop by what matters to you.

Words like non-toxic, clean, natural, and sustainable are everywhere. The problem is, they don't always mean the same thing. That's why we created Truly Free Trust Badges. Each badge represents a specific set of published criteria a product must meet. Instead of asking you to take a claim at face value, we're defining what that claim means on Truly Free — and showing you the standard behind it.Because there isn't one definition of "better" for everyone. Our job isn't to decide what you should buy. It's to give you clearer information so you can make that decision for yourself.

Clear standards. Published criteria. More information to help you decide what matters to you.

Trust Badges help you quickly identify specific qualities or standards that may matter to you when you're shopping.Looking for a product that's Unscented? You can shop for that.Want something Plastic-Free? There's a badge for that.Avoiding sulfates, dyes, parabens or fluoride? You can identify those products without digging through every ingredient list yourself. And when you see a badge, you can see exactly what Truly Free requires for a product to earn it.Our Trust Badge system includes standards such as:Non-Toxic · Organic · Unscented · Cruelty-Free · Plastic-Free · Refillable · Made in America · Vegan · Non-GMO · Gluten-Free · Dye-Free · Sulfate-Free · Fluoride-Free · Glyphosate-FreeEach one has its own requirements.

A seller can't simply choose a badge because they believe their product qualifies. Each badge has defined criteria and corresponding verification requirements.Depending on the badge, that may include:

Ingredient, material or packaging disclosures

Third-party certifications

Seller attestations and documentation

Verification against Truly Free's published criteria

Additional review by the Truly Free team

Some standards are relatively straightforward. Others require significantly more review. That's intentional. The amount and type of evidence required should reflect the claim being made.

How Does a Product Earn a Badge?

The Expert Behind the Standards

Wendy has spent her career looking at the intersection of ingredients, consumer products and environmental health — first as an environmental lawyer and lobbyist, then working alongside brands in this industry. But her interest in this work started much closer to home.As a mom trying to find products that wouldn't aggravate her daughter's eczema, Wendy experienced the same problem many shoppers do: trying to make sense of ingredient lists, certifications and marketing claims while simply figuring out what to bring into her home.Today, she works with Truly Free to help develop the criteria and requirements behind our Trust Badges. Her role isn't to tell you what products you should or shouldn't use. It's to help us turn broad claims into standards that can actually be defined, documented and evaluated.Read More About Wendy's Process -->

What Does “Non-Toxic at Truly Free” Mean?

You'll see the term on products everywhere, but what qualifies as "non-toxic" can vary dramatically depending on who's using it.We didn't want to add another version of the same vague claim. So we defined what Non-Toxic at Truly Free means.Unlike badges that verify one specific characteristic, such as Sulfate-Free or Dye-Free, the Non-Toxic badge evaluates a product against a broader set of requirements. At the center of the standard is Truly Free's Restricted Substance List, which identifies ingredients and substance categories that are prohibited or restricted under the standard.View Truly Free's Restricted Substance List- ->

Did you know "non-toxic" doesn't actually have one universal definition?

Products must meet every applicable requirement to qualify. And unlike many of our more straightforward attribute badges, the Non-Toxic at Truly Free badge requires additional review and approval by the Truly Free team. That doesn't mean we're declaring a product universally "safe."It means we're making our definition public and telling you exactly what a product had to meet to earn the claim on Truly Free.

What About Certifications?

Some Trust Badges rely on established third-party certifications. For example, a badge such as Organic or Cruelty-Free may require evidence of an accepted certification rather than Truly Free creating an entirely new certification system. In those cases, our role is different. We're verifying that the product has the documentation required by our badge criteria and making that information easier for you to find while shopping. That's also why a Truly Free Trust Badge should not automatically be interpreted as a third-party certification itself. The badge tells you the product meets Truly Free's published requirements for displaying that badge.

Why Doesn't Every Product Have a Badge?

Because Trust Badges aren't a requirement for being sold on Truly Free.A product without a badge hasn't necessarily failed one of our standards. It may simply mean the seller hasn't applied for that badge, hasn't submitted the necessary information, or the product isn't applicable for that particular standard. That's an important distinction.Trust Badges provide additional information about qualifying products and help you shop by your values. They are not an approval system for the entire marketplace.

Can a Product Earn More Than One?

The badges aren't mutually exclusive.A product might qualify as Non-Toxic at Truly Free + Paraben Free + Sulfate Free + Dye-Free, for example, while another might qualify for only one badge. That's part of what makes the system useful.Instead of putting every product into a single "good" or "bad" bucket, you can look for the individual standards that matter to you.

The Bigger Idea Behind the Badges

We don't believe another logo telling you "trust us" solves the problem. We think the better approach is to show our work. Here's the claim. Here's what we mean by it.Here's what a product has to meet. Then you decide whether that standard matters to you.Because the goal of the Trust Badge system isn't to make every decision for you. It's to give you better information to make your own.
