Trust Badge Definitions

Products labeled Non-Toxic at Truly Free include personal care and cleaning products that have been formulated without ingredients listed on the program's Restricted Substance List (RSL). These substances are identified as ingredients associated with known human health concerns such as endocrine disruption, carcinogenicity and reproductive toxicity.

Products labeled Organic must be certified under the following:

⭐ Food Products & Supplements — Must display the USDA Organic seal (on pack) or provide a current USDA Organic certificate

⭐ Personal Care Products — Must display the USDA Organic seal (on pack) or provide a current USDA Organic certificate

⭐ Cotton Clothing / Bedding / Bathware / Textiles — Finished product must contain a minimum of 95% GOTS Organic Cotton and have a GOTS seal (on tag), or provide a current GOTS product certificate, or provide a current GOTS Transaction Certificate confirming the cotton is made from GOTS-certified organic cotton (record of transaction required).

Products labeled Unscented are formulated to have no perceptible scent in the finished product. The product and packaging are free of all fragrance, essential oils, aromatic ingredients or masking agents are added or used to alter scent, and the formulation must not result in a noticeable aroma.

Products labeled Cruelty-Free are certified by the Leaping Bunny program, ensuring that neither the finished product nor its ingredients are tested on animals at any stage, including through supplier compliance monitoring.

⭐ Must carry Leaping Bunny certification on packaging or provide a current Leaping Bunny certification

Products labeled Plastic-Free contain no plastic ingredients in the formulation of the product or any packaging components. This includes all primary and secondary packaging materials, with no use of plastic in liners, coatings, lacquers, seals, adhesives, or other hidden components.

Products labeled Refillable System are intentionally designed for repeated use through a refill system that allows the primary container to be retained and reused.

Refill formats may include concentrates, refill pouches, replacement cartridges, bulk refill options, or in-store refill systems.

Products labeled Made in America are "all or virtually all" made in the U.S., which includes U.S. territories and possessions. "All or virtually all" means that the final assembly or processing of the product occurs in the U.S., all significant processing that goes into the product occurs in the U.S., and all or virtually all ingredients or components of the product are made and sourced in the U.S.

Products labeled Vegan do not contain any animal-derived ingredients or animal byproducts.

⭐ Food products — Vegan certification, V-Label Verified, or other 3rd party certification (on pack) or provide a current certification

Products labeled Non-GMO are verified by a recognized third-party certification program to meet established standards for the avoidance of genetically modified organisms (GMOs).

⭐ Food Products & Supplements— Must carry Non-GMO Project Verified or equivalent third-party certification (on pack) or provide a current certification

Products labeled Gluten-Free do not contain gluten or gluten-derived ingredients.

⭐ Food Products — Third-party Gluten Free certification (on pack) or provide a current certification

Products labeled Dye-Free do not contain added synthetic or artificial colorants, including petroleum-derived dyes and FD&C color additives. This includes, but is not limited to, FD&C dyes such as: Red 6, Red 40, Yellow 6 Lake, Blue 1 Lake.

Products labeled Paraben-Free are formulated without parabens.

Products labeled Sulfate-Free are formulated without sulfates.

Products labeled Fluoride-Free do not contain fluoride compounds commonly used in oral care products.

Products labeled Glyphosate-Free are independently tested and certified by a recognized third-party program to confirm that glyphosate residues are not detected above established limits.

⭐ Food Products & Supplements — Must carry The Detox Project Glyphosate-Free or BioChecked Non-Glyphosate Certified™ certification (on pack) or provide a current certification
