Does AirDoctor capture mold?
AirDoctor captures mold spores. However, mold spores in the air usually mean that there is a mold somewhere in your house. You should make sure to find the source and get rid of the root of the problem with professional remediation, if necessary.
What VOCs does the AirDoctor capture?
Our proprietary, dual-action VOC Carbon filter uses a substantial amount of porous, activated carbon to capture odors, gases, and VOCs. It also has a unique mineral mixed in with the carbon called potassium permanganate that makes it capable of capturing specific VOCs like toluene and formaldehyde.
We have independently tested our filters, and they are proven to remove VOCs from the air in a test chamber as well as specifically tested to verify that they effectively remove Formaldehyde and Toulene.
What is UltraHepa?
HEPA is an acronym for High Efficiency Particulate Air. The HEPA standard captures 99.97% of particles at 0.3 microns in size. AirDoctor 3000’s UltraHEPA filter was independently tested and proven to capture particles as small as 0.003 microns in size–that is 100 times smaller than the HEPA standard
How often should I replace the filters?
We recommend replacing the filter every 3 months, however, if you live in an area with high counts of dust, pollen and other contaminants, then we recommend replacing your filter once every month.
How do you change the filters?
- Remove filter cover
- Remove any plastic covering from new filter(s)
- Remove old filter(s) by pulling on the easy-to-grip white tab
- Insert filter(s) into the purifier in the direction of the arrows on top of each filter. Always insert the UltraHEPA Filter first, followed by the Carbon/Gas Trap/VOC Filter
- Turn off/reset your Change Filter alert by pressing and holding the Auto and Dim buttons until the alert light(s) flash 3 times and turn off.
How much energy do they use?
